Lada Kholosho is a Ukrainian-born contemporary artist based on the Baltic coast of Estonia. After many years in a large city, moving to the seaside brought a different rhythm into her life and work — more space, changing light, open horizons, and a heightened awareness of moments that quickly disappear.

Her paintings grow out of everyday observation: sunlight falling across a building, figures moving through a rainy street, the changing surface of the sea, or the quiet presence of an animal. She transforms these fleeting impressions through saturated color, expressive texture, and a strong sense of rhythm and composition.

Lada works in acrylic, oil, watercolor, ink, and oil pastel. Oil pastel remains her favorite medium because of the freedom and spontaneity it offers. It allows her to work directly and preserve the energy of a first response. Her artistic practice moves freely between figurative observation and expressive abstraction.

Formally trained in painting and graphic art, Lada later earned a master’s degree in Art History. She spent fifteen years working as a book illustrator and designer. By 2019, she felt that her work in publishing had reached its natural conclusion and chose to devote herself fully to painting. Her background in illustration remains visible in the clarity of her compositions and her attention to line and visual structure.

Books featuring Lada’s illustrations are held in institutional collections, including the Library of Congress. She has created more than 300 original works, and her paintings are held in private collections around the world.

Alongside her studio practice, Lada is the founder and chair of the Association of Global Online Painters (AGOP), an Estonia-based international association that helps artists move from online visibility into professional exhibition practice. Through AGOP, she develops and organizes international group, solo, and virtual exhibitions, catalogues, and projects connecting artists with audiences and collectors across borders.

For Lada, painting and cultural leadership are not separate paths. Both grow from the same conviction: art should move beyond the studio and the screen into real spaces, real encounters, and people’s lives. While leading AGOP, she continues to develop her own artistic practice and create new work.
